Longhorn Steakhouse Opens in Newburgh

Posted on 19. Dec, 2008 by Joshua Ferris in Blog, News & Reviews

If you’ve ever ventured over to Newburgh to see what’s around you’ll notice there are only a handful of restaurants to choose from and no great steakhouses. Until now.

The Longhorn Steakhouse is now open for business and I, of course, went over to check it out. The wait could have been brutal (total wait time was about 80 minutes on a Friday night during dinner hours) but you can call ahead and make reservations. Very good start.

Next up the food is, hands down, the best steak and food I’ve ever had at a steakhouse ever. The prices are a little steep in these times of economic uncertainty but each meal is well worth the price of admission.

We were a table of 5 that had dinner last night 1/22.I was very disappointed because the bill was $155 and $30 for the tip and the food was cold and tastless. The waiter was a good waiter and he did send the manager over who offered us dessert which was nice but only 1 person had dessert.I personally had the filet and lobster. The filet was the size of a book of matches. The temperature was very rare and it was cooked correctly just cold.I don’t think I would reccomend your place to anyone.

Our experience was much better but I’ve been reading some very mixed reviews of the Longhorn. Here is another review that shares your sentiment Josie:

Hopefully management can work to turn the Longhorn around as it would be a shame to see Newburgh’s newest steakhouse close up shop.
